ABOUT CLD—A FAMILY BUSINESS

Located in a small New England workshop, CLASSIC LIGHTING DEVICES creates handcrafted early American and European period lighting fixtures. Proudly made in the USA, we do not buy finished products or factory-ready lamp parts from others, and we do not do assembly work. We make our products one-by-one from start to finish; from raw metal sheets to delicate lamp designs, from crude steel rods and tubing to graceful chandelier arms, from wood logs to beautiful turning centers and authentic hand finished patinas—the result is the finest, historically reminiscent lighting fixtures you can find anywhere.

We are a family-owned and operated business and believe in doing business with integrity, honesty and pride. The work that we do goes beyond just making a living. It is our passion. Looking closely at our products will tell you who we are and what we stand for. We believe that when you create anything beautiful from your heart and mind, people will appreciate and remember the quality and love that went into its creation and in turn show their loyalty and respect.

TWO DECADES OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

The company’s founder and head craftsman, Serei Tung, has been perfecting his art for over two decades. Having started his career as head artisan to famed New England lighting craftsman Richard Scofield throughout the 1980's and 1990's, Serei is now known to discerning designers and architects for his authentic hand finished patinas like no other. It is this finish that renders our products indistinguishable in appearance from original antiques. Serei also had his hands working side-by-side with Richard in creating all of the main street outdoor lighting for historic Connecticut communities in Chester, Essex and throughout New England. Much attention to detail, heart and experience goes into every piece that leaves the shop. We are sure you will be happy with our heirloom quality products and enjoy them for many years to come.
